Superhands touch rugby in Edinburgh - About us

About us

Superhands is an Edinburgh-based Touch Rugby (“Touch”) club. We train together once a week under the expert guidance of our coach, Pierre, and we compete in summer leagues in Edinburgh and weekend tournaments across Scotland, and occasionally further afield.

The club's defining characteristics are its social and friendly atmosphere, and its commitment to the development of all our players, whatever their individual skill level and experience. Our emphasis is firmly on training hard, playing hard and having fun both on and off the pitch, with the social side of things equally important as the playing and competitive side. Our game attitude is very much about playing as a team - working together and supporting each other to achieve the results we want.

We're ambitious too: as a relatively new club we've come a long way in a short space of time. When we formed in 2009, most of the team were complete beginners. After a shaky start in our first ever summer league we ended up winning our division, and since then have gone from strength to strength: winning silverware in many tournaments; entering and holding our own in the most competitive Edinburgh league; forming as a club; and placing third in the whole of Scotland in the 2010 Scottish Touch Series. We've made some great friends and had some very memorable nights out, and have developed our players so well that no less than 14 Superhands were selected to represent Scotland at the Touch World Cup in summer 2011.

Superhands welcomes new members of all levels. We tend to recruit mostly in the autumn (the end of the playing season and beginning of the training one), but may also be able to take new members at other times of the year too. Additionally, if you're interested in getting involved you can always join many of us for the weekly social Touch on the Meadows on Sundays from 2:00 pm.
