What comes to mind when thinking of Slut Monkeys, Rob Lee, and Beliefs? Or how could a brand of biscuits be so powerful that Trevor would be forced to go cold turkey on them? Why did I spend my Sunday night falling asleep to thoughts of ‘Would Sule find him attractive’ and then dreaming as I finally did sleep of Madonna and John Major? What about Dave is so special that when he pees in the woods everyone shouts out their observations, while I pee in humble silence?

Superhands are looking for enthusiastic and motivated women and men for the Monday Edinburgh Touch Superleague and summer tournaments at home and abroad. All levels are welcome - coaching will be provided. If you are interested please contact Doug at superhandstouch@gmail.com.

A cool but bright morning welcomed the Superhands squad, consisting of newbies Jen, Sule, Gillian and Steve as well as old hands Ali, Freshy, Lesley-Anne, Jo, Jenny, Eleanor, Rob, Fran and Doug and coach Pierre, to Glasgow Green for their first outing against another team in 2010.

We are proud to announce that on 21 February 2010, Superhands became a Club! At our first ever AGM, we unanimously adopted our Superhands Constitution setting out the objectives of the Club, including both the development of new players and the progression of more experienced players to regional and, ultimately, national selection. Adopting our Constitution has also allowed us to open a bank account which will come in very handy when we start fundraising throughout the season!

The SuperHands are proud to announce that Alison 'Freshy' Freshwater has been awarded the Edinburgh Touch New Referee of the Year 2009. Since earning her Level 1 refereeing badge earlier in the year Freshy has presided over countless games in the leagues and tournaments earning the respect of players and fellow referees alike for her good judgement and confident authority.

After a brief hiatus to recharge after the busy 2009 season, Superhands have embarked on their winter training programme with gusto in preparation for next year. Pierre's skills training schedule is being coached with great success, assisted by Freshy, Gogs and Ross. Enthusiasm (and banter!) levels are high, turnout is excellent and there's marked progression, even at this early stage. With such a good start, Superhands will surely be a force to be reckoned with next season!

We have been very busy these past few months working on getting it all together and are delighted that it is now up and running. Its been lots of fun uploading our tournament photos and write ups to the website which has brought back many fantastic memories from this first season as a team together.

We also hope you like looking through our gallery as well as finding our 'about touch' and 'training' sections useful. Please feel free to put a comment on any of the pages or email us if you have any questions.

Superhands

Most of the Superhands players are regular players on Sunday afternoons for the social touch in the Meadows (see "training" page). Please come along if you are interested in playing and we would be delighted to coach you both on and off the pitch. These are relaxed and friendly sessions where anyone is welcome to join regardless of ability. Many of the Superhands started their touch careers as total beginners here so it is a great place to start learning.

Should you be very keen and if Superhands are looking for more players, you could get invited to join the squad winter training sessions for next season's leagues and tournaments.
